On 3 May, despite steady rain, our community once again came together for Euromarkt 2026. It was one of those days where the weather clearly didn’t get the memo, but people showed up anyway and made it happen.
A big thank you to everyone who helped, parents, teachers, and students alike. From baking cakes and donating books, to helping on the day or supporting quietly in the background, every contribution made a real difference. A special thank you also goes to the school’s concierges and security team for their steady support throughout. Susan in particular deserves a special mention for patiently handling our many last-minute requests and “creative adjustments.”
The weather kept things interesting, but it also brought out a strong sense of togetherness. Plans shifted, rain came and went, and people simply got on with it in good spirit. And amazingly, despite the rain, we raised nearly as much money as last year. Well done everyone! These funds will again support a range of initiatives for our students.
This year’s Euromarkt was made possible by us - Martin, Mary, Nicolas, Anja, Dora, Anne and Iliana - a group of parents working steadily behind the scenes over the past months. It took time, coordination and persistence (and a fair amount of humour to get through the occasional setback and surprise), but it was very rewarding to see it all come together on the day.
Looking ahead, we would love to share the workload more widely next time. Euromarkt only works because people step in, and we would warmly welcome more parents joining in early next year to help make it lighter for everyone.
