Description

About the Digital Tech Combo club:

Our Combo-Club after-school program for children aged 7–12 offers a comprehensive blend of digital skills and creativity, preparing young learners for the future in a fun and educational environment. Your child will explore modern technology topics in a safe, structured setting led by our instructors. We cover the following key areas:

  • Digital Literacy: Children build a strong foundation in using computers and the internet. They learn basic computer skills, how to find and evaluate information online, and even try out beginner projects like simple web design or video editing. This foundation helps them think critically about digital content and become savvy users of technology.
  • AI Tools: We introduce age-tailored artificial intelligence tools as learning companions. Kids get to experiment with AI and educational apps (under the guidance) to see how AI can help with homework and creativity. They also learn about the ethics and safety of using AI – for example, understanding why it’s important not to share personal information with AI and how to ask AI the right questions.
  • Creative AI: In this creative component, children use AI for art and music projects. They might create a painting with the help of an AI art program or compose a fun tune using AI music tools. This hands-on play with creative AI platforms sparks imagination and shows kids how technology can be a partner in artistic expression.
  • Productivity Software: We help students become comfortable with the tools. They learn to create presentations with PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Canva and practice writing and collaborating on documents in Google Docs and Microsoft Word. By working on mini-projects (like making a slideshow about their favorite topic), your child will gain confidence in using productivity software for school projects and teamwork.
  • Online Safety: Nothing is more important in the digital age than learning to stay safe online. We teach children how to be good digital citizens – from creating strong passwords and protecting their privacy to recognizing cyberbullying and staying kind on social media. Through interactive games and discussions, kids learn how to navigate the internet and social networks responsibly and safely, giving you peace of mind as they explore online.
  • Coding & Programming: Kids dive into the world of code with Scratch (a visual block-based programming language perfect for young beginners) and Minecraft Education (learning through gaming in the Minecraft universe). They design simple games and stories by snapping together code blocks, which makes abstract coding concepts easy and fun. As they progress, our students take first steps in coding with Python. By writing simple Python programs, they learn how real software is made – empowering them with problem-solving skills and computational thinking in an engaging way.
