Description

Wednesday 15:15 - Yoga and Drama pedagogy

My name is Elizabeth Spreew and I am a qualified teacher, I hold three yoga teacher diplomas (Hatha yoga, Zen yoga and Advanced Hatha yoga) and in this club for the younger years (P3 - S1) I would like to introduce  the science of Yoga. Recently, I finished my MSc in Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology in London,  and I wrote my dissertation on the benefits of Mindfulness and Yoga. This club will combine  Drama pedagogy and storytelling  while practicing yoga. We will act out stories in the Gym hall every Wednesday. Children will wear comfortable clothes for these  sessions, practice yoga poses (Sanskrit names: asanas) and acting out. Combining yoga and  drama games together will give students an unique combination of movements, sounds and speech. As a bonus, children will experience a Sound bath at the end of the each session while  listening to Tibetan balls.

Friday 14:45 - Yoga/ Mindfulness and the five pillars of well-being

Following the completion of my MSc in Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology, I will introduce the students to the daily practice of mindfulness that is scientifically proven to boost well-being.  The mindfulness exercises are researched based and proven to  be very good for well-being. Students will have the opportunity to learn about their own strengths which can be very helpful when choosing a career or simply knowing  the character strengths. This is a new and exciting opportunity for every child to discover his or her hidden potentials and talents that might be hidden. Mindfulness practices are becoming more and more popular among young students and it is scientifically proven that helps with focus and concentration. Students will learn how to flourish and thrive in daily life. Students will experience the sound of the Tibetan bowls.  Everyone is welcome!
