1. Overall Results
A total of 206 responses were collected from parents. Out of these, 155 responses (75.2%) were in favor, while 51 responses (24.8%) were against.
The results show that a strong majority of parents support having grades and assignments visible on SMS.
2. Results by Class Group
In S1 (First Year), there were 12 “Yes” responses and 9 “No” responses, for a total of 21 responses, resulting in 57% support.
In S2 (Second Year), 21 parents responded “Yes” and 9 responded “No,” making a total of 30 responses and 70% support.
In S3 (Third Year), there were 27 “Yes” responses and 10 “No” responses, for a total of 37 responses and 73% support.
In S4 (Fourth Year), 24 parents responded “Yes” and only 1 responded “No,” resulting in 25 responses and 96% support.
In S5 (Fifth Year), there were 30 “Yes” responses and 6 “No” responses, giving a total of 36 responses and 83% support.
In S6 (Sixth Year), 23 parents responded “Yes” and 12 responded “No,” making a total of 35 responses and 66% support.
In S7 (Seventh Year), there were 18 “Yes” responses and 4 “No” responses, for a total of 22 responses and 82% support.
3. Key Insights
The highest level of support was observed in S4 with 96%, indicating almost unanimous agreement. The lowest levels of support were found in S1 with 57% and S6 with 66%, showing more mixed opinions in these groups.
Despite these variations, there is a consistent trend of majority support across all year groups. Overall, the results clearly indicate that parents favor increased transparency through SMS.
4. Final Statement
The survey demonstrates broad and consistent support across all class groups for making class assignments and test results visible on SMS. This suggests that implementing such a feature would align well with parents’ expectations and improve communication between the school and families.
We would also like to inform you that this topic is currently still under discussion during the SEC meetings. We value the ongoing dialogue and careful consideration being given to this matter.
