Last chance to register! LET`S PAINT BERGEN BLUE!

All students, parents & teachers, friends & families are invited to come along and join the wider Bergen school community and discover Bergen through four different 5km walks which take place every evening from 18H30 between 11 – 14th June.

Last year we marched 90 strong, can we beat 100 this year?!

Registration is required and costs 5 euro per pupil and accompanying parent / adult 2,50 euro each.
*** Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult. Pupils are not allowed to participate without supervision***

If you understand Dutch and prefer to register and pay on-line please use this link:https://avond4daagse.typeform.com/to/tRQ3kW. Be sure to mark ESB as your school.

Pupils are encouraged to wear their blue ESB school sports t-shirt for identification purposes as several schools will be participating. If you haven`t got yours yet you can purchase them at here.

Pupils need to register at the PA table each evening before the walk starts at 18H30.

The Parents` Association will be supporting the event with orange and peppermint “bursts” for on the road refreshment each evening so be sure to bring a clean handkerchief with you so that we can make them!

Avonds4daagse Bergen 2018

90 students from nursery to secondary from all language sections, joined by their parents & grand-parents (& 2 dogs) walked over 1500 km!

Wow! – what an event and congratulations to all who participated. We had a record number of ESB participants and the largest group of school children from one Bergen school showing that we really are part of the wider community in Bergen. We reinforced the positive reflection of our school within the local community whilst enjoying and supporting this local initiative.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered and supported our students on this community adventure.

About the Walk
Students discovered Bergen walking some different routes to that of last year. Parents enjoyed the opportunity to meet and get to know each other more in a relaxed, positive environment. It was a wonderful way to share & experience a very Dutch tradition.

The Parents’ Association and parent volunteers once again helped pupils make orange & peppermint “bursts” refreshing our walkers along the route.

The ESB PA also offered refreshments & healthy snacks to round up the whole event on Thursday evening. Thank you to Primary Deputy Director Nadia Roofthoft for awarding all pupils with their medal of achievement at the end of the final route on Thursday evening. Diplomas were distributed in class following the event allowing pupils to share their experiences with their fellow classmates.

Take a look at some photos from the event.

Keep on walking and we hope to see you participating again next year!

Euromarkt – until next year!

Thank you to you all for attending, supporting, volunteering, cooking, making, sharing, and donating! Because of YOU, this was an even more incredible Euromarkt!

And as always – it was a tremendous effort by all. The sun made its appearance enabling all to enjoy participating in the outdoor activities: Viking workshops, Gameland and the culinary market. Once again the turnout was remarkable, and we left with the untranslatable Dutch feeling of “gezelligheid”!

We are pleased to announce that we raised an amazing 5,000 euro net for initiatives which will enhance and benefit the school experience of our children. Work has already started on evaluating potential projects for 2018/19 school year. If you have any ideas please write it down and submit a Community Fund request.

The Parents’ Association Board wants you to know we appreciate all that you have done and we could not have achieved such a feat without all of you. Special thanks to each of the culinary tables! As always, the culinary delights were served with a friendly smile and a community feeling. These parents volunteer time, incredible cooking talents, and many donate food and funds and we thank you for your contributions.

Thank you to all of the parents, friends, and students who volunteered their time and efforts for everything from set up, clean up and organization. Thanks also to the Joint Research Centre, Petten for the use of electrical equipment. We had many activities and places for our visitors to visit, and the combined effort was truly wonderful.

Finally, thank you to the school teachers and administration for their continued support and help.

Here’s to Euromarkt 2019!
