Support the S5 Exchange programme!
Not all of you will be aware that during S5 European School students have the opportunity to take part in a school exchange, the scheme is known as The Mobility Programme. Students have the opportunity to apply to spend September until December (the Christmas break) of S5 at one of the other European Schools or accredited schools. This is an incredible and unique opportunity for our students. It offers the opportunity for personal development in many regards, not least; improving language skills, enhanced maturity and independence through experiencing a different educational, cultural and 'home' environment. In an ideal scenario there would be a direct exchange between 2 students and their families, in reality this is often not possible for many factors. The limiting factor for students being able to participate in the programme is therefore often the lack of a host family. The Parents Association steps in to try to find host families for students wishing to come to Bergen. Applications for the programme in 2026 have now closed and are being considered by the schools. In April/May the work begins to match families for exchange, at this point the PA becomes involved in the search for host families where needed. We would like to prepare in advance this year for this eventuality and would encourage families with students in all year groups to consider hosting an incoming S5 student for the 14 weeks from the start of the school year in September to the Christmas break.
