I would also like to extend a warm welcome to all our new families in our school community! We are looking forward to meeting all of you real soon!
We would like to start the new school year by inviting you to our Welcome and Info Coffee Friday 20th of September from 9:15-10:30 in the Drama Center (DC) in the Primary area of the school.
Who are we and how do we work?
The Parents’ Association is a group of enthusiastic parents who give their free time and skills to the PA – and through us to the school community. It is a great way to meet other parents and have fun together while supporting the school community, welcome and inform parents, and host different events in our school.
An important role of the Parents’ Association is to represent the parents in our school. We have a seat and a vote at the ES Bergen Administrative Board, the School Advisory Council and the Primary and Secondary Education Councils. To give all parents an opportunity to be heard, each class elects and provides at least one parent as Class Representative – or Class Rep (read more here).
The Parents’ Association meets the Class Reps regularly and we take relevant topics further to the Education Councils, to our regular meetings with management or to InterParents – the cooperation of Parents’ Associations of the European Schools.
In order to keep representing the parents and supporting the school community it is quite important that you all join us as members! To be a member means that you support us – and our work.
If you can take your support a bit further, please be a class rep! Or if you are able to give a hand, want to meet new people and be an active part of your children’s school community, we would be happy to welcome you as volunteer! As a volunteer, you give a hand when you have time – from event to event.
We are having our Annual General Meeting on 8th of October at 19:00 – 21:00 in the Primary Drama Centre in School, where the election of the new PA Committee will take place. All PA members are invited!
Looking forward to be seeing you in school!
On behalf of the PA,
