New Secondary Automated Marking System

New Secondary Automated Marking System

The Office of the Secretary General of The European School has implemented an online correction tool for the European Baccalaureate Exam, commencing in 2017.  The objective of the automated marking tool is to increase accuracy, reliability and anonymity. The attached newsletters explain the project and the related testing, training and implementation.

We recommend all parents of students from S1- S7 read the attachments and send any questions or concerns to Secondary Director Ulvi Soomlais and the ES Bergen Parents’ Association.

The Parents’ Association is proud to have provided financial assistance for travel and lodging to students attending the Model European Council in Strasbourg in March. Ten students participated and it took place in the prestigious buildings of the Council of Europe.

The participating students represented Austria and Belgium as minsters during council sessions dedicated to amending draft legislation. There was also a student from our school who participated in the first MEC Media Team. Students heard from key note speaker Nadia Murad, current holder of the Sakharov Prize, and survivor of the IS Yazidi genocide. Students also were taken on a walking tour of Strasbourg, participated in urgent debates and press conferences and met students from other schools throughout Europe.

The Parents’ Association is proud to help students at the school with experiences that enhance their global learning experience.
